Final trip payments are due in
to me by the end of the week. Checks should be made out to St.
Johnsbury Academy.
Our next meeting (after the city presentations and parents meeting)
will be on Wednesday,
November 15th at 7am in Severance 21.
Paperwork has been coming in, but I'm still missing a bunch of forms
from a bunch of people. Please head on over to the Forms
Checklist page to see what you still need to hand in. Right
now the only students who have handed in all of their paperwork are Ian
Erhard, Liv Erhard, Nick Gallerani, and Lauren Smith. Everyone else
hasn't turned in at least one item. If you don't have a passport yet,
that's fine, there are still several items you can hand in: Montreal permission
slip and $10, two passport photos, and a copy of your birth
certificate. On the Montreal permission slip fill in Montreal for the
location and 12/9 for the date.
If you need the user name and
password for the two password protected pages, contact
me.
Group leaders:
At this point your groups should be in full research mode. If you're
having any trouble organizing/motivating your group, please let me
know. The three elements that the presentation must contain are: a
brief background/fact sheet for the city/region, an overview of our
scheduled events, and an overview of what we could do with our free
time. A digital projector will be available. Please email me all
digital material by this Sunday at the absolute latest.

Fall Update #10: Meeting Date Change
Written by Josh Seamon
Tuesday, 17 October 2006
Due to conflicts with LI week events, the
upcoming city presentations and parents' meeting has to be moved to Monday, 10/30.
Both meetings will still be in The Black Box at the same times -- 6pm
for the city presentations and 7pm for the parents' meeting.
Parents should come to the city presentations and trip participants are
more than welcome to stay for the parents' meeting.
A small version of the SJA permission slip is now online right
here.

Fall Update #9: Montreal
Written by Josh Seamon
Sunday, 15 October 2006
We will be taking a day trip to Montreal on
Saturday, December 9th. All Europe trip participants are
required to attend. We will be leaving from Brantview Drive at 8am and
returning at 10pm. The trip will cost $10 per person, not including
money for food. Checks should be made out to St. Johnsbury Academy.
Everyone going on the trip will need to return a signed permission
slip and $10 to me by Friday, November 3rd. If for some
reason you are unable to go on the trip, please see me ASAP.
Due to its large size, I broke the Master Info List into two parts -- Group
Contact Info and Forms
Checklist. Please check over both pages and let
me know if you find any mistakes. Also, please send/bring me
missing information/paperwork ASAP.
The trip gallery
is now online. Please make a point to go over all of the trip
participant headshots and memorize them all. I will be
quizzing you on them at the 10/26 meeting.

Have you given Mr. Ehrean your signed international
travel agreement? If not, do so as soon as possible! If you

Davis your first check

on your

Approval” form.
5) Lots more EF info is available in
the green EF brochure
packet.

for
giving your city presentation by the end of October. The exact date of
the

evening
in the Colwell center.)
9) Unfortunately we’re not
going to have the ticket vouchers
to use as a fundraiser.
10) I am working to secure us a
fundraiser dance date. It
will most likely be sometime in late November or early December.

work with me regularly on
coordinating fundraising. If you’re interested in helping

Want to go to Washington DC?
Written by Josh Seamon
Tuesday, 12 September 2006
So, I'll be taking a group of students down
to Washington, DC on 10/19 for a 3 day romp around the
capital.
Our plan is to see Washington DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore. We plan on
making stops at Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, St. Johns, The Naval
Academy, the Washington Mall, lots of museums, lots of shopping areas,
and lots of great places to eat.
We're going to stay at my aunt and uncle's house in Alexandria, VA and
at my grandparent's house in Annapolis.
We're going to depart in the early afternoon on Thursday, 10/19 and
return in evening of Sunday 10/22. The total cost of the trip
(excluding food and whatever else you buy on the trip) is $300.
Now here's the deal -- There is still space for a few more students. If
you'd like to go on the trip you need to:
1) Let me know you're interested in going.
2) Talk to your parents to see if they'll let you go.
If you're interested in going I need to know by Monday, 9/18 at the
latest.
Note: We don't have school on 10/19 or 10/20.

Fall Update #3

Monday, 11 September 2006
Since
an after school meeting is all but impossible to
schedule, our next meeting will take place in the morning:
Thursday, 9/21
7am, Severance 21
This
meeting is mandatory, everyone MUST attend. Use the

The cost breakdown of the trip is as
follows:
$3,000 goes to the tour company. This
covers out airfare,
bus transport, tour guide fees, hotels, 3 day ski pass, daily
breakfasts, and 8
dinners.
$500 you will carry (or have access
to). This covers your
lunches, ski rentals, tips, and 7 dinners, all of which you will have
to pay
for on
your own.
So, the overall, total cost of the
trip will be $3,500.
All of you have already paid $200.

Friday, 9/29.

$1,400 will be due on Friday, 10/27.
